"Single Girl" is inspired by little urban girls who find themselves the only ones in the classroom and later at the table where no one else looks like them, from their skin tone to the tightness of the curls in their hair. It is about raising little girls to own their African American heritage and know who they are and their worth. It is about adding color to conversations, never giving up, and leading by example to show that they must go that extra mile to get what they want in this world.
